Capt. Only watching most of the first season of the original Star Trek, I had the belief that this movie would be similar. I was wrong.
Yes, there's action, twists, and a dark, gritty story, but it doesn't have the same...how do I put it? It doesn't have the same charm as the original.
I'll stick with the series for now. Maybe once I've seen more of the series I can appreciate this movie a little more.
Great movie I believe for any Sci-Fi or Star Trek Fan.
The film takes an Alternative look at the early days of Kirk and friends. Allowing a free form mode to create a new story line not originally affiliated with the ST Franchise.
The movie will make you laugh, look in wonder at the battle scenes and keep you on edge throughout.
All across the internet, all of the online movie sites have been buzzing about the release of the blockbustered movie Star Trek. Personally, I didn’t have a ton of interest. I thought, “Oh, a space movie. I don’t have a ton of interest in that.” Everyone said it would be an adventure, but I pointed out that it’s not called Star Adventure, it’s called Star Trek. It’s about a hike in outer space! La-me. However, it was when I saw a picture of the actors that I was really anxious to see it because, OMG, Chris Pine is really hot! Turns out, not only was it fun to watch because Chris has his shirt off, but it’s not really a bad movie, either.

A good movie, but not great. I had a lot of high expectations going in, but left the theater slightly confused about the storyline and unsatisfied by the amount of action.
Great movie. The pacing was fantastic. Pretty much all the humorous bits worked (which cannot always be said of the previous films). Not the best Star Trek movie, but definitely one of the best.
Was always a casual fan of the former Star Trek franchise, but after this movie I think I'm going to start considering myself a legitimate fan. This reboot is reinvigorating, welcome and extremely fun. The casting is fantastic, writing strong and the pace of the film keeps you entertained throughout. Even my wife who is definitely not a sci-fi fanatic loved the movie.
holy shit... best start trek movie... I am now a convert. If all star trek movies are like this, screw star wars!!!
